Broken Pipe Errors with Macs

We’ve
had a couple of ongoing issues with a few customers using Mac’s
getting “Broken Pipe” Errors...
We may have a cure for this - you need to check your version of Java
For Macintosh Tiger 10.4.x and Leopard OS X 10.5, (not Snow Leopard OS X 10.6) you will not need to download previous versions as Mac keeps all older versions installed:
1) Choose the desired version from the list of installed versions.
a) Open Java Preferences.app: Applications -> Utilities -> Java Preferences.app
b) Drag the previous version of Java you want to use to the top of the list
.
It’s the Java Application you need to look at - here are the bottom...
.... as far as I know it’s the 32-bit you are looking at - you’ll have a few versions. Take a note of the way you’ve set so you can change back if you need....
Deselect the newest version (just remove the tick) and tick the next highest number..... The screengrab is from a machine I use ROES from and it runs perfectly here.....
Check which version of Java you are running - use this test page
http://www.java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml if you want to cut and paste...
